Short hair hides are denser and flatter than long hair ones. The hair stands rather than falls, which gives a firmer surface and a more even, tailored look.

Why it lasts

Density is what makes this the practical choice. A short hair sheepskin takes daily traffic without the hair separating or matting, holds its shape on a hard floor, and needs shaking out far less often.

It is also the easier hide to sit on: there is less pile to flatten, so it recovers quickly.

Most short hair pelts we sell are New Zealand. If you want depth and movement rather than durability, look at long hair instead.
