A double sheepskin rug is two hides matched for color, length and density, then stitched along the spine. Matching is the slow part: hides that look alike loose can still read differently once they sit side by side.

Where a double works

A double covers a bench, the end of a bed, or a two seat sofa without looking stretched. On the floor it is large enough to sit on, and still light enough to shake out and move.

Singles suit chairs and bedsides. If you need to cover a coffee table area or the full foot of a bed, a multi pelt rug is the next size up.
