Long hair hides carry the deepest pile we sell. The hair falls rather than stands, so the rug reads soft and moves when it is touched or walked past.

Where the length works

Depth is the reason to choose it. Over a chair, a bench or the end of a bed, long hair gives a sheepskin presence that a flatter hide does not have.

On an open floor in a busy room it needs more attention. The hair separates and wants shaking and brushing to stay lifted. If the rug is going somewhere with real traffic, a short hair hide will look better for longer with less work.

Icelandic pelts are the longest we stock.
