Make it the softest room in the house
The first thing your feet touch in the morning sets the tone for the day. A real sheepskin by the bed is the easiest place to start, and it gets better from there: a long hair cushion against the headboard, a curly bolster, a bench at the foot of the bed with a hide on top. Below are the pieces we would put in a bedroom, plus a few ideas for how to put them together.

Three ways to dress the bedroom in sheepskin
A bedroom has one job, and that is to help you switch off. Natural materials do a lot of that quietly. Sheepskin is warm under bare feet, it takes the echo out of a hard floor and it looks good even when the bed is not made.
- Start on the floor. Put a single rug on the side you get out of bed, or a double rug across the end so both sides get one.
- Layer the bed. Mix one long hair cushion with a curly one or a bolster. Two textures look relaxed, five look like a showroom.
- Finish at the foot. A bench or pouf topped with sheepskin gives you somewhere to sit and pull on socks, and it rounds the room off.
Double rugs for the bedside

Small bedroom, big comfort
In a small bedroom every piece has to earn its place, so choose fewer things and make them soft.
- Keep it light. White, ivory and pale grey hides make a small room feel bigger and calmer.
- One rug, not three. A long double rug along the bed covers more floor than a few small ones and looks less busy.
- Let things do two jobs. A round pouf works as a bedside table, a footrest and a spare seat.
