These are real hides dyed after tanning, not printed and not synthetic. The color sits in the hair rather than on it, so the grain, the length variation and the natural shading all stay visible.

Choosing a color

Dyed hides are the way to put a specific color into a room when the natural range of ivory, honey, grey and charcoal will not do it. Most start as New Zealand pelts, which take color evenly because the hair is uniform to begin with.

Expect some variation between hides in the same shade. That is a consequence of dyeing a natural material, not a fault.
