Mongolian sheepskin

Mongolian hides are the curly ones. The hair grows in tight, silky spirals that catch light differently from any other sheepskin, and the pelts stay light and flexible.

How to use it

Because it drapes rather than sits, Mongolian sheepskin works best over something: a chair back, a bench, a stool, the corner of a bed. It is not the hide to choose for an open floor, where the curls flatten under traffic.

The curl is natural, not set, and it relaxes slightly with use. Shaking the hide out brings it back.

You may still see this sold elsewhere as Tibetan sheepskin. It is the same hide.
