Made from two whole New Zealand sheepskins sewn together lengthways, Fellvang measures 160 cm — long enough to drape naturally over a sofa, across the foot of a bed or along the side of a double bed.
The long wool is straight, thick and easy to brush back into place. Each skin has its own natural wool structure, which remains visible after dyeing. This means subtle variations in shade and texture are part of every piece — no two are exactly alike.
A fell is both a pelt and the high ground where sheep graze — a word that travelled from Old Norse into English. A vang is a fenced meadow. Fellvang brings the two together: the meadow on the fell, and the skin it gives.

- Champagne — Creamy beige with a warm glow. Pairs naturally with pale wood and light interiors.
- Toffee — A muted grey-brown taupe. Neutral and easy to combine with other colours.
- Dark Beige — Deeper and warmer than Champagne, without becoming brown.
- Coal — Deep steel grey and the coolest shade in the collection. Creates a strong contrast against light furniture.

Care
Shake regularly and brush the wool with asheepskin brush when needed. Do not machine wash.
Dyed sheepskin can fade or discolour when exposed to direct sunlight. To preserve the colour, avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight, including sunny areas close to windows. Not suitable for outdoor use.

Why we love it
We handle a lot of these. After a while you stop reading the label and just use your hands: press into it, let go, watch how quickly it comes back up. The good ones spring straight back. The tired ones stay flat.
No two are alike, which is either the best part or the annoying part depending on your mood. Size, shape and shade all move around a little, because a hide is a hide and nobody cut it to a template. So the one that turns up at your door won’t be a perfect twin of the photo. That’s rather the point.
Long, short and curly
Long hair is the one everybody pictures. It moves, it drapes over the back of a chair, and it’s the one you sink your fingers into without meaning to.
Short hair sits flatter and takes more traffic. It’s the sensible pick for a seat pad or a spot that gets walked across, and it stays tidy with almost no effort from you.
Curly is a different animal. Tight little corkscrews, lighter in the hand, more decorative than plush. Don’t brush those. A shake is all they want.
New Zealand, Iceland, and a few places in between
New Zealand skins arrive two ways. The short-hair version carries fine little curls through it. The long-hair version is smooth and long, and it likes a brush now and then to keep its loft.
Icelandic skins are undyed and completely natural. They’re the ones we point at when somebody wants to put a skin outdoors, because sunlight won’t pull the color out of them. Dyed skins will fade, so those stay inside.
Designed in Denmark
Natures Collection has been working with skins out of Denmark for years and the look has barely shifted: quiet colors, clean shapes, nothing shouting for attention. It’s a style that ages well, which was always the idea.

Shake it out. That really is most of the job. Two or three times a month is plenty, and it keeps the hair standing up instead of packing down flat.
Vacuum on the lowest setting when it needs it, never on full power. Skins with smooth hair also enjoy a brush now and then. Curly ones don’t, so leave those be and just give them a shake.
Can I wash it?

Carefully, and not often. Most of our skins are hand wash only: cold water, a mild liquid detergent, rinse cold, then shake the water out rather than wringing it.
New Zealand skins are the exception. Those can take a machine wash on a delicate cycle at 86°F (30°C) or below, with a delicate spin. The leather side may stiffen afterwards, and you soften it again by pulling it gently over the edge of a table.
Either way, dry it flat on a rack with the hair side facing down, away from sunlight and away from radiators, and pull it back into shape while it dries. Never tumble dry it. Full instructions per skin type live on our product care page.

Undyed natural skins can. Icelandic ones especially, since they’re completely natural and sunlight won’t lift the color out of them.
Dyed skins are another story. UV fades them, so keep those out of direct sun and off the patio.

A few loose hairs in the first weeks is normal, and it settles. Shake it out somewhere outside once or twice, vacuum on low, and you’ll stop noticing.

A single skin is one hide. It covers a chair, the end of a bed, or a reading corner, and the measurements shift a little from hide to hide because they aren’t cut to a template.
Two hides sewn together give you a longer runner shape, which is what most people want beside a bed or over a bench. Larger sewn rugs go up from there when you need to cover real floor.

Kids’ rooms are one of the places these end up most often, and there’s a whole children’s room selection for it. Natural undyed skins are the safest choice there.
Pets will find it before you’ve finished putting it down. That’s not a warning, just what happens. Hair comes off it easily enough on the low vacuum setting.
Made to be lived on
These aren’t display pieces. They go on the chair you actually use, the side of the bed you actually get out of, the floor where the dog actually sleeps. Shake them out, vacuum them on low every so often, and they wear in rather than out.
